Yagublu points to protocol distortions in his case

The protocols of the court sessions on the Tofig Yagublu's fail to mention the defence's questions to witnesses, its petitions to challenge the court and much more, while some facts are presented with a completely different sense, the oppositionist himself has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 2-18, Tofig Yagublu was on a hunger strike demanding to cancel his guilty verdict and acquit him in the hooliganism case. He called himself a provocation victim, and accused the court of "carrying out a political order." On September 12, Yagublu was transferred to a private clinic amid a coma threat. On September 18, the court decided to transfer him to house arrest, after which the oppositionist agreed to stop his hunger strike.

Tofig Yagublu has stated that he had got acquainted with the protocols of the court sessions and found falsifications in them. "Many testimonies and facts are distorted. What happened at the court sessions was adjusted in the protocols to match investigators' materials. Everything was written in such a manner as to confirm what was written in the indictment. The protocols fail to present my defence's questions to witnesses and their answers," Mr Yagublu told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to the politician, starting from the preparatory session and throughout the entire trial held by the first-instance court, he made written and oral motions demanding to disqualify the court, but this was not reflected in the protocols of the sessions.

In his turn, the advocate, Elchin Sadygov, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that "the defence has prepared comments on the falsification of the protocols and submitted them to the court of appeal on October 15."
