Widow of killed Chechen blogger declares blood feud against Ramzan Kadyrov

In a video appeal to the leader of Chechnya and his adviser Adam Delimkhanov, a wife of Mamikhan Umarov, who was killed in Austria, blamed them for her husband's death and threatened them with blood revenge.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 22, a video appeared on the Internet in which Mamikhan Umarov's relatives living in Chechnya apologized for his claims and pleaded guilty of his murder. Social network users considered the apology as forced.

On July 4, Mamikhan Umarov was shot dead not far from Vienna. In his videos posted on YouTube, the blogger insulted Ramzan Kadyrov and his parents. Shortly before his death, Mamikhan Umarov claimed receiving threats.

In her video appeal posted on YouTube, Zarema Umarova says that she dreams of "seeing the dead body" of the leader of Chechnya and that she is not afraid of anyone except Allah. The woman also mentioned the recent humiliation in Chechnya of Salman Tepsurkaev, who collaborated with the "1ADAT" Telegram channel.

"The people you force to sit on a bottle will one day force yourselves on the same bottle," Zarema Umarova said. The widow of Mamikhan Umarov also called Ramzan Kadyrov a "dirty creature" and a "bastard."

Zarema Umarova also voiced threats against the adviser to the leader of Chechnya. "Adam Delimkhanov, may the Almighty punish you. If I get to you, I will take your soul ... I have no bodyguards, send your people, I am a woman," says the widow of Mamikhan Umarov.

Meanwhile, the woman condemned the mother of the leader of Chechnya, who, according to Zarema Umarova, should have told her son to "stop killing people." The Mamikhan Umarov's widow called residents of Chechnya "hostages."

The Chechen customs do not provide for the declaration of blood feud by a woman, historian Salavdi notes.

"I know a case when a wife took revenge for the killing of her husband ... In the early 2000s, in Urus-Martan, young woman Aizan Gazueva blew up a military commandant of the district, who brutally killed her husband in front of her. Aizan Gazueva was then declared a terrorist," said Madina, a staff member of a Chechen NGO.
