Kadyrov's practice of educating Chechens prompts Yakutia residents to appeal to head of Ingushetia

The authors of the appeal to the head of Ingushetia because of the brawl at a wedding in Yakutia expect Makhmud-Ali Kalimatov's reaction in the style of Ramzan Kadyrov. However, as analysts believe, the practice of punishing offenders adopted in Chechnya only demonstrates the collapse of Russia's legal institutes.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Innokenty Makarov, a famous Yakut athlete, demanded from the Ingush leader "to find and punish" a native of the republic, who, according to Makarov, had beat up a woman at the wedding. The head of the local Ingush community promised to reprimand his young fellow countryman who had figured in the incident, and treats it excessive to involve the Ingush leadership to this case.

The public appeal of Yakutia residents to the head of Ingushetia after the incident involving a member of the Ingush community is an echo of Kadyrov's practice of working with Chechens outside Chechnya, says Svetlana Gannushkina, the chair of the "Civil Assistance" Committee.

"Of course, I think that this guy, if he is guilty, should be punished, but according to the law, and not by Kalimatov's decision," Ms Gannushkina has stated.

Ingushetia is not Chechnya; therefore, one should not expect from Kalimatov a demonstrative reprimand of the guilty young man, Alexei Malashenko, a political analyst, believes.

"They don't even try to solve the problem according to the law with the help of law enforcement bodies. Yakut activists expect Kalimatov's reaction like Kadyrov's ones, that is, to find and punish. Unfortunately, this practice has become widespread across Russia," Akhmet Yarlykapov, a Caucasian expert, has noted.

The practice of appealing to regional leaders with a request to deal with a fellow countryman has nothing to do with the justice or law, Ruslan Mutsolgov, a lawyer with the "Mashr" human rights organization, is sure.
