Several local citizens detained and killed in Chechnya

On July 6, 2006, in the settlement of Chernorechye of the Zavodskoj District of Grozny, the capital of Chechnya, when conducting targeted special actions, the employees of the district department of internal affairs detained one of local citizens.

One of the inhabitants of the settlement told that the man was taken late at night directly from the house, where he lived. The reasons for detainment and the name of the young person are now clarified.

The message of the "NGOs Board" that arrived to the Editorial Board of the "Caucasian Knot" runs that on the same day in the course of raid actions in the central marketplace of the city of Grozny, the employees of low enforcement bodies of Chechnya detained five young persons. The fact was told by one of the witnesses of the accident. According to his version, the power agents arrived to the market in several passenger cars. Without any explanations, they caught five persons, who were trading in mobile telephones in the market, put them by force into the car that accompanied them, and took away. Some time later four of the men were released. The reasons why one of the detainees was left in custody are unknown. His name is now clarified.

On July 3, 2006, in the village of Chiri-Yurt of the Shalinskiy District of Chechnya, in course of a targeted clean-up ("zachistka"), the employees of local law enforcement bodies detained a 27 years old local citizen (his name is clarified). The information about the fact was obtained from another citizen of the dwelling settlement. According to some sources, weapons were found in the house of the detainee during the search.

Also, as one of the citizens of the village of Goragorsk of the Nadterechny District of Chechnya, these days in the village the members of power bodies detained and took to unknown place one of his co-villagers. According to his version, the reason of detainment of the man was his taking part in combat actions on the side of the militants. The circumstances of the accident and the name of the detainee are clarified.

According to the "NGOs Board", on the night of July 3, 2006, in the Naurskiy District of Chechnya the employees of the Chechen militia, who drew their duty at the checkpoint situated in the village of Chernokozovo, swept from their automatic guns a "Zhiguli" passenger car driven by a citizen of the neighbouring Nadterechny District. As a result of gunning, the man got а gunshot wound and later was hospitalized. Citizens of the village of Chernokozovo told about it. The militiamen asserted that they started fire only after the driver has ignored their demand to stop and tried to escape.

According to the information obtained from local citizens, on June 22, 2006, in the settlement of Dolinskiy of the Groznenskiy District of Chechnya, the members of power structures killed Ramzan Mikhailov, an 18 years old citizen of the settlement. It has become known that early in the morning on June 22, a "Gazel" car with tinted windshields drove up to Mikhailovs' house. Armed people in camouflage got out of the car and broke into the yard of Mikhailovs' house. On seeing them, Ramzan Mikhailov, who was in the house, tailed off. Without a warning the power soldiers started firing for effect. The young man was heavily wounded in his thigh and later died from loss of blood. According to the people, the soldiers rendered no help to the wounded person. One of them came up to the boy lying on the ground and told his comrades: "It's a wrong one." Some time later, the servicemen loaded the "Gazel" and left.

According to the people, the power members, among whom there were both Russian servicemen and the workers of local bodies, were looking for the elder brother of the victim who took part in combat operations against federal forces. The murdered Ramzan was earlier repeatedly detained by the workers of various power agencies and was released after cruel tortures and torments. Apparently, this time the young man wanted to escape this lot.
