Woman suspected of funding North-Caucasian militants put under house arrest

A court in Moscow has ruled to arrest six out of seven natives from Northern Caucasus, suspected of financing militants. The seventh detainee-a woman placed under house arrest.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 13, the Russian FSB announced detention of seven persons suspected of raising over 38 million roubles for militants of the "Islamic State" and the "Djabkhat-an-Nusra", recognized as terrorist organizations and banned in Russia by the court. Searches under the case were held in Moscow, Chechnya, Dagestan and Ingushetia.

One of the three women, Angelika Baban, decided to cooperate with investigators; and the court sent her under house arrest, the "Kommersant" writes.

The coordinator of the group is thought to be Islam Musaev, who in 2013 was involved in the case of participation in an illegal armed formation (IAF). According to investigators, Musaev had links with Beslan Makhauri, one of the leaders of the "Imarat Kavkaz", also banned in Russia by the court.

Salman Ramazanov, a bus driver, a father of three minor children, denied any links with the "Imarat Kavkaz", and, according to his story, he had no money to finance terrorists. Also, Islam Saadaev, a businessman, refused to plead guilty.
