IS* releases new video with teenagers attacking Chechen law enforcers

On December 3, the "Islamic State" (IS, earlier, the ISIL), a terrorist organization, banned in Russia by the court, posted an expanded version of a video with threats pronounced by the teenagers who attacked law enforcers in Chechnya on August 20 this year.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 21, the Internet resources supporting the IS* posted a video in which Chechen teenagers pronounce oath of allegiance to the IS*. The IS* then stated that specifically those teens attacked Chechen law enforcers the day before.

On August 20, a series of attacks was committed against law enforcers in Chechnya. Five militants were killed. The oldest participant of the attack was 18 years old, while the other attackers were 11-17 years old.

On December 3, the Telegram channel named "Directorate4" reported that the IS* had posted a propaganda video showing the teenagers, who attacked law enforcers in Grozny on August 20.

"The video is mostly an expanded appeal expressed by the teens, which had been already posted ... Each of the minors addresses both the supporters of the IS*, and threatens law enforcers," says the message of the channel.

Also, according to the Telegram channel, the video shows the preparation for the attack. "They demonstrate the knives that planned to use for attacks, as well as several explosive devices and Molotov cocktails," says the message.

The British edition The Sun reported on December 3 that the video also shows an 11-year-old boy demonstrating a knife and voicing threats of physical violence against law enforcers.

The age of the alleged young militants has confirmed the trend revealed by the "Caucasian Knot" back in 2017: young people are actively joining the ranks of the Chechen armed underground. Among the ten killed or wounded persons in clashes with law enforcers in Grozny in December 2016, there was not a single guy older than 20, states the material of the "Caucasian Knot" entitled "Chechen underground is growing, but getting younger".
