Instagram blocks account opened under name of Ramzan Kadyrov

Users of social networks have noticed that za_kadyrov_95 account on Instagram, which posted statements on behalf of the Chechen leader, has been blocked.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in December 2017, Ramzan Kadyrov lost his accounts on Facebook and Instagram. His pages on the above social networks were blocked shortly after the US Department of the Treasury included the leader of Chechnya in the Magnitsky List and called him responsible for human rights violations in Chechnya.

Social network users noticed that za_kadyrov_95 account on Instagram is blocked, the "Znak" has reported today. According to the edition, the first post on the above page on Instagram appeared on July 18, and as of October 10, the account already had 1.3 million followers. Despite the fact that neither Ramzan Kadyrov himself nor the Chechen authorities confirmed the identity of za_kadyrov_95 account, the page posted videos shot by Ramzan Kadyrov himself, and various statements were made on his behalf.

Meanwhile, Djambulat Umarov, Chechen Minister for National Policy, External Relations, Press and Information, has said that za_kadyrov_95 is not a personal or official account of Ramzan Kadyrov. "The account was created by his supporters. Ramzan Akhmatovich himself has nothing to do with it," stated Djambulat Umarov as quoted by the edition.

As of 6:20 p.m. Moscow time on November 8, za_kadyrov_95 page on Instagram is not available. The "Caucasian Knot" does not have any comments from Ramzan Kadyrov on the issue.
