Medical experts recognize Manvel Grigoryan as a seriously ill patient

Forensic experts came to the conclusion about diagnosing with serious diseases Manvel Grigoryan, a former member of the National Assembly of Armenia and the head of the "Yerkrapah" Volunteer Union. The defence of the arrested former delegate intends to request the court to release him from custody.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 16, retired General Manvel Grigoryan, a delegate of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), was detained on suspicion of illicit arms trafficking and then arrested by the court's decision.

On September 26, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by Arsen Mkrtchyan, an advocate of the arrested former delegate, that the forensic medical examination lasted about 1.5 months and as a result, the experts submitted their opinion concerning serious diseases from which Manvel Grigoryan suffered.

"The forensic examination has confirmed that Manvel Grigoryan suffers from a number of diseases, including ... a life-threatening disease," reported Arsen Mkrtchyan. The advocate has also added that those diseases are incompatible with the conditions of his client's detention under arrest.

In the near future, the Court of Appeal will consider the appeal filed by the defence against the decision of the first instance court to extend the arrest of Manvel Grigoryan, and the results of the forensic medical examination will be submitted to the court, the advocate emphasizes.
