First ever Nagorno-Karabakh beer festival held in Stepanakert

According to law enforcers, about five thousand people took part in the first beer festival in the history of Nagorno-Karabakh. The residents of the city, interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot", would like to see such topical festivals in Stepanakert more often.

The beer festival was held in Stepan Shaumyan Boulevard on August 28. The entrance to the event was free, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, who was present at the festival, reports.

Visitors could listen to the performance of the Stepanakert Brass Orchestra, companies of the House of Culture, as well as take part in the party of national Armenian dances.

"The major thing in this event was that Stepanakert townspeople had an interesting evening. The cultural programme was the aim of the festival. The Armenian (brewing) company provided such an opportunity; and we do not mind that this event is annual," Karine Arutyunyan, the head of the culture division of Stepanakert Mayoralty, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

She also noted that the Mayoralty hoped that such topical festivals would become a tradition.

A similar festival was already held in Yerevan and was a great success; so, we got the idea to organize a festival in Nagorno-Karabakh, Ovannes Kazaryan, the representative of the Armenian brewing company in Stepanakert, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
