"Anji" fans ask Vladimir Vasiliev and Suleiman Kerimov to help their favourite FC

About 1500 people signed an appeal to Senator Suleiman Kerimov and businessman Alisher Usmanov with a request to sponsor the Makhachkala "Anji" FC, which found itself in a difficult situation because of its large debts. The football fans wrote a separate open letter addressed to Vladimir Vasiliev, the acting leader of Dagestan.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 30, FC agents announced that the debts of the "Anji" FC to its employees, tax authorities, off-budget funds, and counterparties reached 250 million roubles. On August 1, the Federal Tax Service arrested the only account of the "Anji" FC.

On July 31, the FC fans posted on the website "Change.org" an electronic petition entitled "Help us not to lose our favourite 'Anji' FC!!!" The authors of the petition have called on the President of Russia, the State Duma, the Federal Assembly, the acting leader of Dagestan, and businessmen Suleiman Kerimov and Alisher Usmanov to provide financial support to the "Anji" FC.

Moreover, the leaders of the fan association "Anji" wrote an open letter to Vladimir Vasiliev, the acting leader of Dagestan, and called him on to save the FC from liquidation. According to the open letter, the sports, including football, are one of the few shows available to residents of Dagestan.

The fans believe that the disappearance of the "Anji" FC will damage the prestige of Dagestan at the all-Russia level. "Do you really want to stay in the history of Dagestan as the leader, during whose ruling the legendary football team, dear to the heart of every Dagestani resident, ceased to exist?" states the fan letter as quoted today by the "Championship".
