Sochi Judge Dmitry Novikov freed from punishment

On July 6, in Rostov-on-Don, the court found Judge Dmitry Novikov guilty, but freed him from punishment.

Dmitry Novikov pleaded not guilty.

In April 2010, the qualification board of judges for the Krasnodar Territory deprived Dmitry Novikov of the status of a judge and changed the wording for his dismissal in 2008 from the voluntary resignation to the dismissal in connection with the deprivation of the status of a judge. A year later, the decision pronounced by the qualification board of judges about the early termination of the Dmitry Novikov's powers was cancelled.

The Rostov Regional Court found Dmitry Novikov, the Judge of the Khosta District Court of Sochi, guilty, but freed him from punishment, the "Obzor.io" reports today.

Sentenced Dmitry Novikov was freed from the pronounced punishment in connection with the expiration of the statute of limitations for the criminal prosecution, the press service of the Court reports. "The sentence did not enter into legal force," reports the message posted on the website of the Rostov Regional Court on July 6.
