Law enforcers refuse to give out Ibragim Aliev's body for burial

For the fifth day, relatives of Ibragim Aliev, a resident of Ingushetia, cannot succeed in their request to give his body out to them. The Ingush resident was killed after being detained by law enforcers, his cousin reported.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 9, a resident of Ingushetia complained about the kidnapping of his cousin Ibragim Aliev, a 29-year-old resident of Nazran. According to the relative, in the morning on June 8, law enforcers conducted a search at the man's house, beat him and took him away to some unknown destination. The relative believes that a grenade and an improvised explosive device (IED) were planted to Ibragim Aliev. The relatives were informed by law enforcers that Ibragim Aliev was killed while he tried to escape. Bashir Aliev, an Ibragim's brother, was also detained and is kept at a detention facility, the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" reported on June 14.

On June 18, Sultan Aliev, a cousin of the killed man, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that for four days, the family members were not given out the body of Ibragim Aliev to bury it under the tradition.

A wife of Ibragim Aliev Zukhra Chahkieva wrote a complaint about the law enforcement bodies' refusal to give out her husband's body and sent it to the HRC "Memorial", the human rights organization "Mashr", Federal Ombudsperson Tatiana Moskalkova, and the law enforcement bodies.

On June 18, in his blog on the "Caucasian Knot", rights defender Magomed Mutsolgov published in full the Zukhra Chahkieva's complaint in his post "Wife of Ibragim Aliev killed after his detention complains that the body of her husband was not given out".

Magomed Mutsolgov criticized the law enforcement bodies' refusal to give out the Ibragim Aliev's body to his relatives for burial and called the situation "disrespectful."
