Discrimination in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan's National Security Minister Eldar Mahmudov has fired ministry officers having Armenian relatives, informed sources told Caucasian Knot. The sources think this decision of the minister is explained by the fact that Azerbaijan has a conflict with Armenia, so the presence in the ministry of officers having relatives among Armenians is inadvisable from the point of view of national security. In turn, human rights defenders have viewed this as an example of ethnic discrimination in Azerbaijan.
