A police lieutenant was killed in shooting in the yard of house 43 in Makhachkala's Shamil Avenue on the night of Thursday, Dagestan's Internal Affairs Ministry told RIA Novosti earlier today.

Unknown attackers fired an unidentified weapon at the officer who died of sustained wounds in a hospital.
