Chechnya's deputy prime minister intends to kill Basayev before 9 May

Chechnya's First Deputy Prime Minister Ramzan Kadyrov says nearly all executors and organisers of the terrorist act in Grozny's Dynamo stadium on 9 May 2004 when seven, including President Akhmad Kadyrov of Chechnya, were killed have been destroyed.

The terrorists who killed Akhmad Kadyrov have been destroyed, Ramzan Kadyrov told Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper by phone. "There is one executor and one customer left. The other devils have been shot dead one by one," he said.

He did not give the name of the "live executor" of the assassination though. "We have killed those who laid the bomb in the stadium and who pressed the button. And this one was involved in building the stadium as a construction worker." At the same time he mentioned the rebel was in Chechnya.

Kadyrov said he was nearly found, but would not be prosecuted. "I will blow them up... If we don't get him, this is a shame for Chechens. I must revenge for my father. It is a custom here. And he will have justice in the world beyond," he added.

To the question how many executors of the terrorist act were, Chechnya's first deputy prime minister said they were five and Basayev was who had ordered it.

In a previous interview for Komsomolskaya Pravda Ramzan Kadyrov had promised to seize Basayev by 9 May. In reply to this mention Kadyrov said he had not promised to seize Basayev alive. "I promised to destroy him, this is the task set here: kill Basayev before 9 May. There is time before the celebration," he said.

At the same time, Basayev was currently in Dagestan, according to the deputy prime minister's information. "If I knew where he is, I would kill him personally," Kadyrov says frankly and assures he has "no other affairs save for searching and destroying this devil."

Kadyrov is not to have troubles with capturing Basayev in Dagestan, according to NEWSru.com. He feels at ease there, says the publication. As an example, it quotes Kadyrov's raid on Dagestan to release his sister.

The incident happened in Khasaviurt on 10 January 2005 when Ramzan's sister Zulai was delivered to the City Division of Internal Affairs. In an hour or so, Ramzan Kadyrov and 150 armed people under his command came to the police station and seized it. They beat the police officers severely and none of the latter put up any resistance. After a while Kadyrov's security force left Khasaviurt. His sister was reported to have seriously suffered because of police battery. Her arm and shoulder were put in plaster as a result.
