Two persons join miners' hunger strike in Gukovo

Today, in Gukovo, miners have held another picket in front of the "Kingcoal" Company's office.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since the spring of 2016, "Kingcoal" miners have been regularly protesting in Gukovo and Rostov-on-Don, demanding repayment of their salary debts and issuance of ration coal.

According to the calculations made by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, today, more than 100 gathered in the square in front of the office building. Of them, 20 people were miners from the "Vostochnaya" mine, a place for whose pickets had not yet been sanctioned by the city administration.

Elya Krasilnikova, one of the picketers, has reported that the city administration states that all places in the city where pickets can be held are occupied. "So, we cannot start officially our protest action. So far, we come to the picket of the miners from the 'Kingcoal' Company as sympathizers. As soon as all formalities are met, we will begin picketing. Some of our miners will go on hunger strike to replace the miners from the 'Kingcoal'," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Elya Krasilnikova.

Two protestors who stopped their hunger strike were replaced by two other people, reported picketer Tatiana Avacheva, a member of the initiative group. According to her, it has been decided that the protesters who are on hunger strike for a long time will stop their protest and will be replaced by other people.

"Many hunger-strikers continue protesting out of all their efforts and wait to be replaced. We are very upset that the authorities do not pay attention to us. However, our goal is to obtain the money due to us by the law. We did not steal it, but earned by our honest work," said a participant of the protest action.
