Policeman wounded at shelling in Dagestan

A police outfit was attacked in the Khasavyurt District of Dagestan; one policeman was wounded and hospitalized.

The incident occurred this evening near the village of Endirei, Khasavyurt District, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan has specified.

"Unidentified persons shelled the GIBDD (traffic police) outfit, which tried to stop them," said a local law enforcement source, adding that the attackers’ car was driving on the opposite lane.

The wounded policeman was hospitalized; the attackers managed to escape; and the "Interception" plan was introduced in the city, the "Interfax" reports referring to its law enforcement source.
