Russian serviceman killed in fight with rebels in Grozny

Law enforcement and security agencies obstructed a group of rebels in Chechnya's capital this morning. The combat led to some casualties. "A group of gunmen up to ten in number was spotted this morning in the basement of a house in Grozny's Staropromyslovskii district. A federal forces unit blocked the gang. The gunmen were suggested a surrender, but they opened heavy fire instead. At the moment there is information the combat led to one Russian serviceman dying and six wounded," a Chechen Internal Affairs Ministry officer on duty told Caucasian Knot's correspondent. Internal Affairs units have been moved to the scene of the combat, according to the interlocutor.
