Resident of Chechnya killed in Ingushetia

The Chechen Interior Ministry's fast response unit together with the Ingush Department of the Federal Security Service and the Ingush Interior Ministry conducted a special operation to detained alleged members of illegal armed units in the village of Ordzhonikidzevskaya, Ingushetia's Sunzha district, on the night of June 14-15, a source in the Ingush Interior Ministry told the Caucasian Knot correspondent. Shamil Alayev, an 18-year-old resident of Grozny, was killed and another young man, who was also suspected of membership in illegal armed units, was arrested during the special operation. The name of the arrested man is being ascertained.

"Law enforcement agencies obtained information that an armed rebel group was hiding in a house on Mendeleyeva Street in the village of Ordzhonikidzevskaya. The decision was made to conduct an operation at daybreak on June 15 and detain the rebels," the source said. "One of the bandits, Shamil Alayev, offered armed resistance and was destroyed by return fire on the spot. The second rebel was detained and conveyed to Chechnya. Three self-made grenades, a Makarov pistol and cartridges for it were found on the scene."
