Shamil Basayev's bodyguard destroyed in Chechnya

Shamil Basayev's bodyguard Abubakar Visimbayev, an organizer of terrorist acts in Moscow and in the North Caucasus, was destroyed by Russian soldiers in the Shelkovskaya district of Chechnya on April 7. He led a bandit group of about 10 men. The group was under direct command of Shamil Basayev. It arranged terrorist acts on the territory of Ingushetia and in the districts of Chechnya bordering with it.

The Caucasian Knot correspondent learnt about it from the press service of the regional headquarters on the counter-terrorist operation in the North Caucasus.

The military assert that the killed bodyguard of Basayev was directly connected with the terrorist act in the Theatre Center "Nord-Ost" in Moscow. "Visimbayev personally selected and trained kamikaze women for execution of terrorist acts in different regions of Russia," the press service reported.
