North Caucasian Counter-terrorist Center created

The North Caucasian Counter-terrorist Center (Center T) has been created pursuant to an order by Russian Interior Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev. The Center will function under the authority of the Main Interior Department in the South Federal District.

According to the head of the Center's press service, Tamerlan Kazikhanov, the main task of the new structure is to struggle against criminal terrorism in the North Caucasus. Militia Colonel Vladimir Rostegayev, who headed the criminal investigation division of Stavropol Region's interior department before, has been appointed head of the center.
