In November, 67 persons fell victim to the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

At least 67 persons fell victim to the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus in November 2012; of them, 38 persons perished and 29 more were wounded. These are the results of the calculations made by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

The above statistics is unable to reflect, with a 100-percent precision, the number of victims under each of the categories specified in the report. Not all the data gets into news reports. It is not always possible to verify the truthfulness of the statements made by law-enforcement bodies.

The leader by the number of victims is Dagestan. During the month, 40 persons suffered there, including 26 killed and 14 wounded persons. In the course of special operations against members of illegal armed formations (IAFs), as well as a result of attacks and diversion-terror acts, at least eight employees of law-enforcement bodies were lost, and 12 more received wounds of various gravity. In total, 12 persons, suspected of involvement in the armed underground were killed. As a result of attacks of militants six civilians perished, and two more were wounded.

In Kabardino-Balkaria, 19 persons suffered, including nine killed and 10 more wounded persons. As a result of attacks of militants, and in the course of special operations two employees of law-enforcement bodies perished, and six more were wounded. In the course of armed clashes and special operations seven persons, suspected of involvement in IAFs, were killed. As a result of attacks of militants, four civilians were wounded.

In Chechnya, six persons suffered - two were lost and four more were wounded. In the course of a special operation, employees of law-enforcement bodies found bodies of two killed militants. Four employees of law-enforcement bodies were wounded in the course of operative and search actions.

In Ingushetia, two persons suffered- one was killed as a result of an armed clash, and another one was wounded as a result of a militants' attack. Both victims are employees of law-enforcement bodies.

In the last month, there were no victims of the armed conflict in Karachay-Cherkessia, North Ossetia and Stavropol Territory.
