Representatives of Georgian and Abkhazian sides meet in Gali district of Abkhazia

A quadripartite meeting between representatives of the Georgian and Abkhazian sides with the participation of the Russian peacekeeping force command and the UN Observer Mission is taking place in the Gali district of Abkhazia on January 19.

The main issue on the agenda is a criminogenic situation in the Gali district of Abkhazia, which has worsened recently.

The Georgian delegation is headed by Malkhaz Kakabadze, Georgian Minister for Special Affairs, and Avtandil Ioseliani, head of the Georgian State Intelligence Department. The Abkhazian delegation is headed by Foreign Minister Sergey Shamba.

Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General in Georgia Heidi Tagliavini is present at the meeting.
