Actions of protest against human rights violations in Chechnya take place in Yekaterinburg

In January 2004, an initiative group of Yekaterinburg people is carrying out an action of protest against human rights violations during the war in Chechnya. A picket at the monument to Tatischev is to be held on January 30, with up to 15 people taking part in it. The initiative group is led by Gleb Edelev, a local NGO activist.

A competition for the best letter to a Chechen friend is being conducted in School 7 of Yekaterinburg. Besides, the school is collecting school books, fiction books and professional literature for teachers to sent them to Chechnya.
