Resident of Dagestan detained on suspicion of murdering two policemen

In the city of Izberbash, power agents have detained a person suspected of assaulting policemen, of whom two died. This was announced today by a source from the law enforcement bodies of Dagestan.

"On September 12, in Lermontov Street of Izberbash, policemen detained a certain Gasanov at his residence, who on August 5 in Gamidov Street opened fire, acting together with his accomplices, at four employees of the patrol-and-post service who were on duty; two of them later died from the received wounds," said a source from the MIA of Dagestan.

Let us remind you that at night on August 6, unidentified persons opened fire from firearms in the city park of Izberbash when checking their documents, resulting in death on the spot of Senior Lieutenant Alkhasov and Senior Sergeant Shakhnovazov.

The source has added that now investigatory actions are held with the detainees, and "their accomplices are searched," the RIA "Novosti" reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 20 employees of the MIA of Dagestan detained a suspected militants' helper, who was on the search list. Firearms were confiscated from him.
