Volgograd Region hosts locals' protest actions

Today, residents of the Dubovskiy Municipal District of the Volgograd Region have planned two pickets against the authorities. Also today, residents of the district conduct a protest action in Volgograd.

Let us remind you that earlier residents of the above district had protested and voiced their discontent with the activities of the local leadership and personally of Vladimir Klochkov, head of the administration. The protesters' claims relate to municipal utilities, organization of traffic, construction of a hostel for medics and the status of medicine. The head of the district is also accused of corrupt ways of making money.

One of the pickets, initiated by Anatoly Beev, was to be held in Dubovka from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the trading square located in Moskovskaya Street. The second picket, initiated by Nadezhda Bityutskaya, was planned at the car park near the railway station in the district centre, the "V1.ru" reports.

Also today, a rally was held in central Volgograd, where about a hundred residents of the Dubovskiy District demanded that the regional authorities clear out the situation in their district. They invited the Governor Anatoly Brovko to their protest action, but instead a certain official from the regional administration came out and offered to take the protesters' letter.

After standing in the foyer of the administration for about 15 minutes, the people headed to the Square of Fallen Warriors. There, they raised banners with slogans: "Brovko's inaction kills region", "Klochkov - to resignation", "Zubkov, help", "Klochkov, go away!" and "We don't trust Brovko", the "Pravda Volgograda" writes.
