Dagestan: protesters demand release of Kizlyar residents detained by power agents

On August 26 a protest action will be held at the building of the Dagestani Prosecutor's Office, where people will demand to release three residents of the Kizlyar District, detained under suspicion of helping militants.

Omar Omarov, one of the suspects, a resident of the city of Kizlyar, told in his interview to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that he may be illegally imprisoned on trumped up charges. He claimed that policemen had planted drugs, a trotyl block and a grenade into his car and into the cars of his friends Murad Gasanov and Ruslan Gadjimagomedov.

Today, Omar Omarov, Murad Gasanov and Ruslan Gadjimagomedov were placed into the IVS (temporary detention facility) of the Kizlyar ROVD (District Interior Division). The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told about it by Zaur Omarov, a resident of Kizlyar and Omar's brother.

"At the rally to be held on August 26 we'll demand to release them, because they are innocent," said Zaur Omarov.

According to his story, on July 27 local policemen planted weapons to them and detained them later on the same day. On August 3, by decision of Federal Judge of the Kizlyar City Court Uzakka Magomedov the detainees were released under recognizance not to leave.

The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Dagestan said that they have no information about the incident.
