A polling station for the election of President of Abkhazia presented in Moscow

Polling stations for citizens of Abkhazia residing in the Russian Federation will be opened in Moscow and Cherkessk. Presentation of such a polling station was held in Moscow on August, 23.

At a press conference of Ambassador of Abkhazia Igor Akhba the journalists were told that one would be able to vote only after producing a general civil Abkhazian passport. By the moment a divisional election committee numbering 15 persons is formed in Moscow and that of 12 persons in Cherkessk. “All the necessary measures have been taken for the citizens of the Republic of Abkhazia to be able to express their political will”, the Abkhazian diplomat said.

In accordance with the legislation, three observers from every candidate may be present at each polling station.

Earlier, the “Caucasian Knot” reported that there were three presidential candidates: Vice-president Alexander Anquab, leader of the opposition Raul Khajimba and Prime Minister Sergey Shamba.
