Woman wounded by explosion in Kabardino-Balkaria

A resident of the Baksan District, Kabardino-Balkaria, has suffered from the explosion, triggered today, when a militia car was moving along the federal highway in the Elbrus District.

A self-made bomb was triggered today on the federal highway Azau-Prokhladny, near the village of Verkhni Baksan, when a car with fighters of the Volgograd OMON (special militia) was en route there, the ITAR-TASS reports.

A source from the Investigatory Department of the Investigatory Committee said that the blast wounded a woman from Baksan, who happened to pass by in her VAZ-21099 car.

"The woman received numerous lacerations, a spinal injury and a closed head injury, and was hospitalized," the RIA "Novosti" quotes the spokesman of the Investigatory Committee.
