KBR woman asks to provide medical treatment to her convicted son

In his colony, Eduard Kulbaev, a convict, is not receiving efficient treatment for diabetes, his mother, Marina Atabieva, a resident of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), has informed and called on the prosecutor's office to intervene in the situation.

Eduard Kulbaev, who is serving his term in a maximum security colony in the village of Kamenka, Chegem District, was hospitalized with a diagnosis of diabetes, but failed to receive sufficient treatment, his mother, Marina Atabieva, 59, has stated.

According to her story, for several days, the colony hospital had no insulin; and she bought this drug herself and gave it to her son, but his blood sugar level did not drop. The woman expressed concern that in such a situation, if Eduard is discharged from the hospital, he may fall into a diabetic coma.

She has explained that the situation is complicated by the presence of a serious concomitant illness in her son.
